# Development and installation

These pages cover installing PyBoy on each supported platform, building it
from source, setting up a development environment, and preparing contributions
for review.

PyBoy is under active development. Keep backup copies of save files, especially
when upgrading between releases. For help, join the
[PyBoy Discord](https://discord.gg/wUbag3KNqQ).
